About Butch Varner...

Butch Varner International was founded by Butch & Jenny Varner.  The mission of BVI is to take the powerful Word of God to the nations & to reach those who are lost.
Butch Varner is a fourth generation Pentecostal and third generation Pastor. Growing up, he witnessed powerful moves of the Spirit of God but noticed that so many people never changed and walked in the blessings of God. At age four, God called Butch to be a leader and to travel the world to minister the Gospel to leaders in the family, church, military, business, and nations. He is married to his lovely wife Jenny and he has to wonderful sons Joshua and Micah. Jenny, Joshua, and Micah are part of his mighty ministry team! God blessed Butch with awesome parents E. J. and Fran Varner who are active in the ministry today. God brought Jenny from a Christian home and here parents Frazier and Pat Manning are actively serving Jesus. Glory to God!

At a young age, God placed the love of trumpet music in Butch's life. He always had a knack to blow his horn with a deep soulful sound as well as joyful expression. God has blessed Butch with one of the world's greatest trumpet virtuosos and teachers, Roy Roman (www.royroman.com). Roy Roman teaches students around the world including Phil Driscoll (www.phildriscoll.com)

The trumpet playing technology that Roy has invested into Butch has changed his life and ministry forever!  Butch has recorded with Creative Soul Records under the production of Eric Copeland.  He has also recorded in conjunction with Yamaha under the production of Richy Petrello, founder of Glory Zone Records.

God blessed Butch and Richy to do five crusades and concerts in Japan.  Butch travels throughout the United States and Asia preaching, counseling and consulting with Pastors, Leaders, and Ministries. Butch pastored an international church in Japan for six years where over 2,000 people came to Christ. He is returning to Tokyo to start an international ministry. (www.butchvarner.com).  During his time in Japan, God moved mightily with signs, wonders, & miracles.  He saw the spiritual hunger of the Japanese nation for the peace & love that only comes from the one true God.  With a culture dominated with Buddhism & Shintoism, there were many spiritual forces that came against the ministry that God had called the Varner family to in the land of the rising sun.  With Butch’s spirit of tenacity and desire to defy the stereotypical missionary life, God favored the ministry and opened many doors for the preaching of the Gospel throughout the nation.  Through the medium of gospel music, the church was able to travel to many cities in Japan to minister and even had the privilege of recording a bi-lingual (Japanese & English) gospel CD, RJ2K- Reach Japan 2000.

In 2000, Butch left Japan to serve as a Captain in the Army as a Chaplain.  During the War on Terror, Butch prepared soldiers & their families for future military operations.  He ministered to them in the areas of counseling, marriage enrichment, and leadership development.  He completed his tour of duty in 2004 and founded Butch Varner Internation, Inc.

As Butch Varner International is launched into the next level of ministry to the nation of Japan, we are excited to expand our network of powerful ministries ready to defy the typical paradigm of missions.  Although the nation of Japan seems to lack an immediate physical need, there is a deep need for spiritual fulfillment.  As BVI networks with Christian Media and prophetic pioneers, the nation of Japan will be changed eternally!

About Jenny. . .

Jenny was born into a Christian family.  Her Grandfathers were both ministers & her parents are active in church to this day.  Coming from a military family, it was common to move frequently.  Growing up in South Carolina & Alabama, Jenny often traveled with her family.  After graduating from High School as Valedictorian, Jenny attended Lee College (now Lee University) in Cleveland, Tennessee.  She majored in Christian Education with a minor in Bible.  In her senior year of College, she attended an extension study to Israel & was baptized in the Jordan River.  It was an unforgetable trip!

In college, Jenny met Butch & they immediately fell in love.  As both had been praying for a spouse, God joined them together as a ministry team on May 8th, 1993.  While completing her senior year in Cleveland, Jenny worked together with Butch in a Neuropsychiatric Health Center, with Dr. William A. VanHorn, as the office manager.

While in Japan, Jenny started King's Kids Preschool at the Misawa Christian Servicemen's Center.

Singing has always been a passion for Jenny & she used this gift while recording RJ2K- Reach Japan 2000.  Working with both a Japanese & an American choir, Jenny taught both to sing in the other's language.  She also taught conversational English to Japanese adults & children.

The city of Misawa often invited the combined choir to perform at city-wide events & concerts.  They wanted to know the true meaning of Christmas & paid the church to perform a Christmas Concert at Miss Vedol Dome.  God showed favor to the CSC & opened many doors of ministry for the church.

After moving to Texas, Jenny completed a Master's Degree program at Baylor University with a certification in Montessori Elementary Education (1st thru 3rd grades).
